Mt. Zion Church is blessed with a rich variety of music groups who serve to inspire faith and lead the congregation in the worship of God. Groups meet to rehearse in the music room adjacent to the church sanctuary. Groups are led by the Rev. Paul Zieber, musical director.
The Chancel Choir prepares a variety of gospel songs, classical, and contemporary anthems for worship for most Sundays. The choir also prepares musical services for Christmas and Holy Week. Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm. Adults and youth are welcome.
The Praise Team leads Mt. Zion in traditional and contemporary worship songs one Sunday a month. Rehearsals are held two Sundays a month at 5:30 pm. Vocalists, percussion, and instrumentalists are welcome.
A Cappella Group
A Cappella is included in Sunday and Seasonal Services on an occasional basis, and rehearses two Sundays a month at 6:30 pm. Its selections often provide a satisfying challenge to vocalists of better than an average musical and vocal ability. New members are needed and welcome.
This group of Tenor and Bass singers performs gospel selections on Sunday mornings about once every two months. Men and women singers are welcome. Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings at 6:15 pm.
The Cherub Choir performs in Sunday and Seasonal services on an occasional basis. Children who are in pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten programs are welcomed to discover the joy of offering the gift of music.
Zionaires (Children's Choir)
Zionaires is our children choir. It performs once every six weeks in Sunday services. Rehearsals are held after Sunday worship. Children in the first through fifth grades are invited to participate.
